Bill Polson currently serves as the President of SentryWest Insurance Services. Bill began his insurance career in 1988 as a Commercial Lines Underwriter with Travelers Insurance. He spent 20 years with Travelers in Underwriting and Marketing and in 2006 become a Regional Marketing Manager with Philadelphia Insurance Company. Bill joined SentryWest in July 2008. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Westminster College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History. He joined the US Army as an Intelligence Officer in 1984. After an initial 4 year active duty tour, he served an additional 18 years with the Utah National Guard. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2006. Bill also spent several years coaching high school football at South, East and Murray high schools. Bill and his wife currently reside in Sandy, Utah.
Brian has been a licensed agent with Sentry West Insurance since 2004. In 2008 he graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Finance and completed a two week Travelers Insurance Commercial Lines Training Program in Hartford, Connecticut the same year. Clark specializes in insuring oilfield related businesses. Before becoming an agent Clark managed a family owned oil field trucking company. He has spent time at rig sites and knows the day to day operations involved. Having been a pilot since his teens he has been able to help clients by flying personnel or parts to areas not easily serviced by larger airports. Craig R. Crockett co-founded SentryWest Insurance Services in 1976. He has received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah. Throughout his career Craig's focus has been within the commercial property and casualty insurance arena. He is widely known as an independent insurance agent with expertise in providing insurance solutions for the real estate developer, owner, investor and manager. Mr. Crockett and SentryWest insure more condominium homeowner associations, apartment complexes and property management firms than any other agency in Utah. Craig also has a significant market share insuring shopping centers, office buildings, and other types of real estate development projects. Craig’s clients own and manage real estate assets throughout the United States. He is a recognized expert in dealing with mortgage bankers and attorneys to assure that complex insurance requirements are met and real estate transactions are closed on time. Mr. Crockett has spoken at numerous real estate seminars and has assisted the Utah Department of Insurance in dealing with insurance issues specific to condominium homeowner associations. Craig is a past president of the Park Avenue Condominium Homeowners Association in Park City, Utah. In addition, Mr. Crockett is a member of the Salt Lake Life Science Angels where he invests in and mentors new venture start ups within the medical device and pharma industries. Dave has been serving and advising clients in the Insurance and Financial Services industry since 1980. A graduate of Utah StateUniversity with a degree in Business Administration. James has spent nearly a decade in the insurance industry. He began running his own agency with American Family Insurance, until he decided to leave and come to SentryWest. Wanting to focus more on commercial insurance risks, James found SentryWest to be a perfect fit. James believes that it is important to get to know the client and their risk and to become more of a trusted risk manager for his client, rather than just an insurance agent. In doing so James has gotten a reputation with his clients of outstanding service and knowledge. James spends most of his time focused on commercial development and construction, as well as manufacturing risks. However, there is no risk that he is not ready to tackle. Whether it be restaurants or trucking, James is happy to help the clients fill their insurance needs. James is currently an active member in UMA(Utah Manufacturer’s Association) and NAIOP(National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals). James and his wife, Angela, are parents to two children, and love to do anything outdoors and active here in the beautiful state of Utah.
Jim Jones serves as the Excutive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of SentryWest Insurance. Jim began his career 1981 selling life insurance for American International Marketing, but soon branched out into Property and Casualty, specializing in business insurance. In 2000 he joined The Buckner Company and for over 10 years served as the Executive Vice President/COO of the agency. Jim came over to SentryWest in 2011. He has been involved with the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce commtitte, Salt Lake Independent Insurance Association past president and served on the scholarship committee for years. He has worked with the Korean community; and for the past 14 years has served as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, training leaders and carrying out activies for youth. Jim and his wife Beverly have been married for over thirty years and they have four children.
John Robert Hicken has been in the insurance industry since 1962. He was with Farm Bureau for the first part of his career and then joined SentryWest in 1979. He sells all lines of insurance including business, auto, home, life & health insurance. John Robert graduated from BYU in Education and Business Administration. He has lived in Heber City, Utah all of his life. He has been married for 49 years and has 4 sons, 2 daughters and 17 grandchildren.
Jon has been in the insurance industry since 1994 working as a broker, agent, and risk manager. As a specialist in property and liability exposures, he has become one of the premier experts on insurance and risk management issues pertaining nonprofits, technology firms, manufactured housing communities, property managers, religious institutions, community banks, art galleries, and the LGBT community. Some of the other areas of insurance and risk management Jon handles include: Businessowners, Homes, Autos, Umbrella Liability, Professional Liability, Directors & Officers Liability, Workers Compensation, and Surety Bonds. LaMond has over 20 years experience as an insurance provider and risk transfer specialist. He is a top producer and Senior Partner at SentryWest Insurance Services, specializing in risk management for community associations, contractors, developers, businesses, and high net-worth clients. As a member of the Community Association Institute Legislative Action Committee LaMond worked directly with the drafters and legislators on the language for SB167, the bill that recently became law and dramatically improved the insurance scheme for community associations in Utah. He has spent years educating Community Managers, Attorneys, and Community Association volunteer leaders about insurance and risk management. He has always sought out and implemented innovative ideas to more efficiently and economically provide insurance to his clients. More recently, he has devoted considerable time educating attorneys and community association managers on the new insurance laws applicable to community associations. He continues to work diligently on new laws impacting community associations and especially those involving insurance issues. LaMond has previously served as a board member for Q Comm International. At the time Q Comm was a publicly traded Telecommunications company. He has also served as a board member for a resort condominium in Park City, UT. He was also honored as an “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Utah Chapter of EO International.
Len Reynolds entered the life insurance industry as a career agent with Provident Mutual Insurance Agency in 1972. Named in 1975 to manage the Salt Lake City Office, Len then moved into Life Insurance Brokerage in 1978. A graduate of the University of Utah, and long time board member of the Utah Chapter of the Chartered Life Underwriters Association Len also served as President of the Salt Lake Valley Life Underwriters Association. After spending 20 years building one of the nation’s largest independent life insurance brokerage general agencies, Len sold the company, completed his management agreement and acquired SentryWest Insurance Services. He received honors with Magna Cum Laude. He began his insurance career as a commercial lines underwriter with The Travelers Insurance Co. Ron has a full life with family, church and work. Ron married Pam Gale in 1979 and has 4 children and 2 grandchildren. Ron enjoys family vacations, traveling, golfing, skiing, waterskiing, hiking and scuba diving. Ron has lived in the Salt Lake Community all his life except for 2 years as an LDS missionary in Australia.
Sean got his start in the insurance industry in 2003 as captive agent for American Family Insurance focusing on personal insurance needs. In just over 5 years he built a scratch agency to over 1300 clients, while retaining over 90% of his customers. In 2009 Sean made a career change by becoming an agent/partner with SentryWest. Stephanie began her career in insurance in 1992 and joined SentryWest Insurance Services in 1994 as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative. Currently, Stephanie manages the SentryWest Personal Lines team. She has earned both her CISR and CSPR designations and has been highly influential in the insurance industry technology arena. Stephanie served as the President for the Utah Applied Systems User Group from 2004-2008 and is currently on the Board of Directors for ASCnet, the national organization of Applied Systems Users. Due to Stephanie’s vast knowledge of personal lines insurance and her dedication and professionalism, she has been asked to sit on several independent insurance companies advisory councils. Steve is originally from Canada, and has enjoyed living in beautiful Southern Utah for over 15 years. He lives in St. George with his wife Nicole and their six young children.
